Mile 2

The day started with the sun breaking through the RV’s blinds . We quickly prepare to hit the road, but to our surprise, the semi we pulled in behind was still there! Will we have to wait for the driver to wake in order to leave? You will find out in the next episode..

Just kidding, in true Super-Meg fashion, she squeezed out of the tight spot with ease. Once again I say, I married a badass!

The curse of Bakersfield
For those who are unaware, in Bakersfield CA, as we were driving south, the strong winds sheered the slide out cover off the RV. This required Meg to pull over and remove the 20 foot bar of the canopy roller. The canopy though was flapping on the side of the RV. We had to pull into a truck stop, borrow a ladder and cut it off.
Fast forward to today, as we approach Bakersfield Texas, the curse strikes again! !
Woomp, thwack, thwack… Meg looks in the rearview mirror and notices some trim flapping. Once again, she pulls into a truck stop; a little glue and that magical “fixes everything”– Duct Tape, and back in the road!
I have ALS, Bakersfield Curse…ha! Someone hold my beer! No really, my hands don’t work.

And the miles continue. Stay tuned for mile 3, as I recount our visit with the incomparable Julie Suarez and her husband John, in El Paso Texas.
